Hallo und Herzlich Willkommen

in meinem ersten Reggae Blog. Kurz zu mir: ich bin Baujahr 72 und interessiere mich  seit ca. 25 Jahren für gute Reggae-Musik und alles was dazu gehört.

Angefangen hat alles wie bei den meisten von euch mit Peter Tosh und Bob Marley.

Da ja  Riddims fast im minutentakt produziert  werden ”ob gut oder schlecht, das sei einmal da hingestellt”
habe ich mir gedacht ich bau mal so ein blog um euch ein wenig mit guter Reggae-Musik, Neuigkeiten, Terminen, Nachrichten usw. zu versorgen.

Suga Roy & Conrad Crystel tribute to Gregory Anthony Isaacs.

Am 25. Oktober 2010 unterlag einer der legendärsten Reggae-Sänger der Welt “Gregory Anthony Isaacs” nach langem Kampf seinem Krebsleiden. Gregory Isaacs hinterließ in der Reggae-Welt eine Grosse Lücke.

Jetzt – ca. 8 Monate später, bringt das legendäre Duo Suga Roy & Conrad Crystel ein Tribute Album “Universal Tribute to Gregory Isaacs” auf   den Reggae-Markt.

Auf dem Album findet man seine grössten Hits. Auch Reggae Grössen wie Fantan Mojah und Luciano geben sich die Klinke in die Hand.

Die Cd soll heute, den 23.6.2011, auf Fireball Records (Suga Roys Label) erscheinen.

Um Meisterproduzent Frenchie war des die letzte Zeit ein wenig ruhig geworden. Ende letzten Jahres ließ er eine Reihe von “steppers tune” von Russ Disciples auf seinem neuen Label Calabash produzieren.

Aber jetzt ist er zurück mit einem Knall! Drei neue Riddims und eine Single sollen nächste Woche raus kommen! Und da hier Frenchie als Produzent am Start war, kann man mit einigen großen Künstlern rechnen!

“Koloko” ist ein Dancehall-Riddim der von Reggae-Künstlern wie Mr. Vegas, Carl Meeks, Fantan Mojah und Burro Banton interpretiert wird, während “Skatend Killer” unter anderem von Tarrus Riley, Luciano. Alborosie und Frenchie´s langjährigem Freund Sindbad zum Besten gegeben wird.

“Ghetto State” ist ein Hip-Hop angehauchter Riddim der wie maßgeschneidert ist für Artisten wie Sizzla und Bounty Killer!

Darüber hinaus hat Frenchie auch “Unity” vom schwedischen Dancehall-Talent Million Stylez produziert.(link unten)
